Processing Technician - 2nd Shift

Purpose Statement

Shift: Monday thru Friday 2 pm - 10 pm

A Processing Technician is required to operate a Dough Table and/or a Donut King, ingredient mixing equipment, filling equipment, proofing and frying equipment, and provide break relief to other members of the "Team." Also participates as a member of a "Self-Directed Team" to accomplish shared goals and objectives.

 

Key Accountabilities and Outcomes

Operation of the equipment includes:

Performing/completing process controls, control charts, pre-operation inspections, and light preventative maintenance, at the specified frequency. Also keeping the equipment and general work area well organized and at a high level of cleanliness on a continuous basis.

Communications Link

Must be able to communicate effectively in group or team environment about safety, production information, problems, process improvement ideas, and general topics. Communicate product attributes, test data/results to the appropriate associates. Communicate uncontrolled variations in the process. Communicate with visiting internal/external customers regarding the process.

Product Quality

Perform product attribute/variable testing at the required frequencies. Complete Process Controls at the required frequencies. Investigate and take corrective actions when the process is out of control.

Leadership

Sets the example of personal performance that encourages excellence. Works cooperatively, listens to , and communicates well with associates on all levels. Adheres to plant policies and rules. Leads, facilitates, or participates in teams.

Work Place Safety

Reports all work place safety concerns to the appropriate personnel and takes corrective action when appropriate. Ensures fellow associates are aware of and in compliance with all safety rules. Approaches safety with a positive attitude and watches out for the wellbeing of others.

Product Safety

Reports all product safety concerns to the appropriate personnel and takes corrective action when appropriate. Perform metal detector checks at specified frequencies. Perform pre-operation inspections and take corrective action, or report exceptions to appropriate personnel. Maintains a well organized and clean work area. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience High School graduate or GED; or six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, graphs and charts, and procedure manuals. Ability to write route reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively in group settings. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates and perfects using a calculator and to draw and interpret graphs.
