Position Overview
The Buyer – Purchasing Administrator is part of Insulet’s Global Procurement organization, reporting to the Indirect Category manager. The Buyer – Purchasing Administrator has two key Responsibilities: First, she/he is responsible for administering Insulet’s purchasing system. This includes but is not limited to: requesting onboarding paperwork from suppliers, tracking weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual metrics of supplier performance, managing the open order report, and working with Insulet stakeholders to refine the policies, procedures, and systems governing Insulet’s purchasing system.
Additionally, the Buyer – Purchasing Administrator is responsible for traditional buying, mostly of Indirect materials. Responsibilities: include negotiating with suppliers, converting requisitions to purchase orders and sending these to suppliers, following up with suppliers to ensure delivery dates are met.

Coordinates new supplier set up processManages and maintains Master Data informationVerifies purchase requisitions by comparing items requested to master list, clarifying unclear items, recommends alternativesTurns requisitions into purchase orders and forwards purchase orders to suppliersPrepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price, obtains recommendations from suppliers for substitute itemsProvides purchasing information by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data and trendsMonitors shipments to ensure that goods come in on time and traces shipment of undelivered goodResolves shipments in error with suppliersExpedites orders when necessaryNegotiates purchasing agreements with suppliersOversees all phases of inventory movements, including ordering, receivingPerforms other duties as requiredRequired Leadership/Interpersonal Skills & Behaviors
