Job Summary: Assists in the design of forms and reports for departmental performance improvement, cost reduction efforts and other departmental or hospital committees/meetings. Acquires data from primary and/or secondary data sources to analyze, update, document for cost savings and standardization opportunities. Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in utilization of products, vendors, and supply issues. Ability to complete buyer position duties related to purchasing of products and/or equipment in a professional and timely manner for CaroMont Health, to include CRMC, CMG practices, Hospice and Courtland Terrace Nursing Home. This includes, but is not limited to, creating and transmitting purchase orders accurately, managing vendors, sourcing products, negotiating pricing and providing pertinent documentation and information (in spreadsheet format when necessary) to track performance. Communicating with vendors concerning performance expectations. Coordinate with departments on delivery and/or installation of any minor equipment ordered. Communicate any information pertaining to their orders/back orders. Maintain a cost effective and manageable process of product and service acquisition for CaroMont Health. Demonstrates CaroMont CARES. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Requires two-year college degree, Bachelor’s degree preferred. Requires 2-3 years of data management experience. Requires advanced knowledge and proficiency of computer software applications, including essential Functions as determined in compliance with ADA. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, spreadsheets, and form design. Familiarity and understanding of regulatory requirements and TJC standards. Effective oral and written communication skills. Good judgment skills. Excellent organizational skills. Attention to detail. Prior purchasing experience in the health care field a plus. Familiarity with hospital products and equipment. Negotiating, time management, and organizational skills preferred. Willingness to work within a team environment. Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team. Must have an analytical mind and inclination for problem-solving.
