InGenesis is seeking a Procurement Buyer to work with our client. In this role, you will advise departments on purchasing policies and procedures and provide options for vendor sources. You will prepare open market bids and issue purchase orders for existing contracts. The procurement buyer confers with university departments regarding requirements, specifications, and deliverables of products and services. Ensures compliance with the Board of Regents (BOR) and The University System of Georgia (USG) policy requirements and regulations.

Job Duties
Responsible for reviewing and analyzing purchase requisitionsInvestigates and develops sources of supplyEvaluates requisitions and initiates bidding process within assigned product linesReviews quotes for appropriateness, timeliness and costPrepares and issues Request for Quotes, Sole Source/Sole Brand and/or Requests for informationInterprets purchasing policies and procedures to departments and vendorsAnalyzes bids, quotes, and proposals for adherence to specifications and recommends contract awardsPrepares contract amendments for public notices, contract assessments and renewal documents and written materialsAssists with monitoring vendor and supplier performance for compliance with contract requirementsMaintains manual and electronic documents, files, and recordsPerforms purchase order close-out and expedites open and/or blanket purchase ordersAssists in resolving billing issues associated with open purchase orders and coordinates resolution of purchase order payment issues with Accounts PayableVerifies item descriptions and amounts in bids and contractsMonitors customer satisfaction of goods and services received for purpose of resolving outstanding issues and improving quality of servicesMinimum Qualifications
Associate degree from an accredited institution in related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experienceTwo (2) years of related work experienceAbility to source, identify vendors and respond to vendor/supplier inquiries and/or questions.Knowledge of BOR/USG policy requirements and regulationsStrong financial and fiscal accountability.Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skillsProficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite)Preferred Qualifications
GCPA certification from the State of Georgia Department of Administrative preferredBachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Business, Accounting, Finance or related fieldPrevious experience in supply chain, materials management and/or purchasing preferredPhysical Demands
