Procurement Director, Ingredients and Co-Manufacturing

The Director of Ingredient and Contract Manufacturing Procurement is responsible for over $200 million USD spend. The categories are complex and volatile from a Supply Chain and Price Risk Management perspective. The individual in this position should have a strong Ingredient and External Manufacturing background, with strategic sourcing experience, a demonstrated capability to develop a holistic strategy for tomato paste, honey, garlic, vinegar, flavors, spices, etc. The individual should drive and support the team to reach cost savings targets and provide solid advice and strategy regarding External sources of supply and Ingredient markets impacting T. Marzetti. Responsibilities Responsibility for sourcing all Ingredient categories impacting T. Marzetti (tomato paste, honey, garlic, vinegar, flavors, spices, etc.), forward contracts, physical inventory, forecasting and communication to senior management. Manage all the Externally Manufactured and Externally Packaged items impacting T. Marzetti to ensure supply and optimize spend in order to achieve savings and cash flow improvements. Proven ability to Lead negotiations for Ingredients and Externally Manufactured categories to achieve lowest total cost of ownership while mitigating risk and securing supply. Develop and enhance strategic sourcing programs that fully optimize the value of the Ingredient categories and Contract Manufacturing areas of impact linking closely to with Manufacturing locations, Customers, suppliers and R&D. Own the supplier relationship and act as “one-voice” towards suppliers with the objective to increase value creation from suppliers by moving from a disaggregated relationship to a strategic centralized partnership. Oversee and manage the supply chain from origin to the factory ensuring that all manufacturing sites are supplied at all times with the right quantity while meeting our needs for quality and service. It is both a strategic and a tactical position that requires forward vision and insight to be combined with data gathering and detailed execution. Collaborate closely with internal departments such as Finance, Operations, Sales/Marketing, R&D, and more to align and support Procurement processes and goals. Qualifications Minimum Bachelor's degree required in the areas of Business, Finance, Agricultural Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain. 5+ years of Ingredient and External Manufacturing Purchasing experience Strong written, verbal, and listening skills. Ability to effectively negotiate and influence business decisions and change. Strong Analytical, Planning and Execution skills. Can effectively articulate various perspectives and impacts of issues and project them into the future. Able to see all sides and the inherent value to stakeholders. Can work through tough agreements and settle disputes effectively. Can be forceful and direct as well as diplomatic. Anticipates and adjusts for problems and obstacles. Knowledge of Ingredient markets (honey, garlic, tomato paste, flavors, spices, etc.) and External manufacturing markets (dough or dressing manufacturers, club repackaging, etc.).
