Procurement Intern - Primoris Renewable Energy

The Procurement Intern will support the Procurement Team with researching, strategic sourcing, negotiations, analysis of pricing structures, bid analysis and purchasing of major material items for solar construction projects. They will also learn about the solar industry from a wide range of project sizes from 5MW to 200+MW, get to see the technology and purchase of various major material items to understand the industry and various technologies and take on a strategic initiative or project as a summary of their internship.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Provides basic routine professional administrative, buying, and purchasing support for a procurement team(s) involved in researching, strategic sourcing, negotiations, analysis of pricing structures, bid analysis, and the purchasing of major material items. Supports cross-functional team(s) using learned concepts to prepare request for proposals and purchase orders; reviews and resolves receiving and invoice discrepancies, supplier development actions, new supplier qualification support, and supplier returns. Works closely with manager(s) and/or lead(s) to support in-sourcing and/or out-sourcing key activities, supplier rationalization, cost reduction programs, lead time reduction activities, and process of technology deployment. May work with many different areas and levels of the organization to forecast workloads and delivery dates, execute purchase orders, and/or discuss various technology applications. Works closely with manager(s) and/or lead(s) to assist team(s) with negotiations, analyzing & leveling quotes received, and making recommendations for award. Other duties as assigned.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Actively pursuing a BS degree in a Supply Chain, Business, Construction or Engineering discipline. Interest in Solar, Renewable Energy, or Power Generation.BENEFITS AND PAY:
$21 - $26, hourly dependent on experience, qualifications, and competencies
