Procurement IT Category Manager

Hybrid-three days in office per week
The procurement IT category manager is responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process for a subset of IT products and services, including hardware (servers / workstations), network & AV, and/or software. The ideal candidate will have experience working with technology providers, be capable of driving cost savings, negotiating vendor contracts, and aligning IT solutions with CSC’s overall business objectives. This position reports into the leader of the Technology category portfolio.
Some of the things you will be doing:
Lead the end-to-end procurement process for a subset of IT products and services, including sourcing, tendering, purchasing, and contract management. Collaborate with internal business partners to understand and prioritize business requirements, ensuring the IT procurement strategy aligns with organizational goals & objectives. Prepare RFPs / RFQs, ensuring clarity of business requirements and evaluation criteria. Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with key IT vendors and service providers. Lead the negotiation of contracts, terms, and conditions, ensuring favorable pricing, delivery terms, and service level agreements (SLAs). Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, finance, and legal to ensure the timely and successful delivery of IT procurement projects. Manage vendor performance and ensure compliance with contract terms. Implement effective cost control measures and identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies. Track and report on savings and cost reduction initiatives, ensuring that targets are met.
What technical skills, experience, and qualifications do you need?
Bachelor’s degree: Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, IT, or related field. 4-5 years of experience in procurement, focusing on IT procurement or category management. Experience using SAP S/4 Hana or Oracle a plus. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, collaborative environment.
Work Environment:
Hybrid work model: 3 days in Wilmington, DE HQ office, 2 days remote per week. Occasional travel may be required for vendor meetings, conferences, or industry events.
