As a Procurement Manager for the Foods Value Chain Intervention Program, you will be responsible for driving and landing several Value Chain Intervention (VCI) initiatives in Greater Asia & Indonesia Foods Business Unit (BU). This role will focus on enabling the successful delivery of financial targets, strategic sourcing initiatives, and sustainability goals through VCI program that will have a medium to long-term impact for the business.

Main Responsibilities 

Design and Implement VCI Programs: Develop and lead strategic Value Chain Intervention (VCI) programs to drive cost optimization, resilience, and sustainability with key external partners and the Foods BU for Indonesia & Greater Asia. Integrate Unilever’s sustainability agenda, including regenerative agriculture practices, into program designs to ensure alignment with environmental and social responsibility goals. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Supply Chain, R&D, and Finance, to integrate VCI strategies across the business. Align VCI initiatives with business objectives and ensure effective communication among stakeholders. 

Supplier Engagement and Development: Build strong relationships with key suppliers, focusing on collaborative opportunities to enhance value creation within the supply chain.  

Market and Value Chain Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and value chain analysis to create and validate the business case, identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and risk mitigation. Benchmark Unilever’s performance against competitors to maintain a competitive edge. 

Financial Tracking, Performance Reporting, and Governance: Establish metrics and KPIs to measure the success of VCI programs. Provide regular updates on the progress and impact of VCI initiatives to senior management and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with financial goals and adherence to governance frameworks. 

 

Candidate Criteria 

Experience & Qualification 

Minimum: 

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or a related discipline. 

6-8 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or program management roles, ideally in FMCG or a large, complex organization. 

Strong analytical skills with experience in supporting strategic procurement programs and program management. 

Ability to work with cross-functional teams, such as Supply Chain, Finance, and R&D, to ensure alignment on procurement strategies. 

Familiarity with value chain analysis, sourcing practices, financial model development, and sustainability, with the ability to support execution and monitor compliance/governance. 

Preferred: 

Background in Finance, especially business case development, cost analysis and P&L management, is preferred.  

Experience in managing high-level supplier relationships and supporting sustainability initiatives like regenerative agriculture.

Financial Literacy: Cost analysis, value chain assessment, and performance tracking.

Additional Information 

This is an office-based role that requires 40% of time attendance to the site
