Manages a group of personnel responsible for the international procurement of fixed assets, parts, tooling, materials, and/or services. Directs market analysis, supplier competitive evaluations and selection, contract negotiations, and assessment of supplier quality, cost, and delivery performance.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE OF FUNCTION

Develop and implement a procurement strategy.Discover profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships.Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms.Approve the ordering of necessary goods and services.Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries.Ensure processes and procedures are fully documented and followed.Examine and test existing contracts.Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company.Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients.Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements and design mitigating strategies.Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES – OPERATIONAL

Standardize and improve the vendor management process and drive the annual vendor review process for the organization.Collaborate with merchandisers, accounts payable, operations, and marketing teams to solve issues and improve customer service experience.Establish and provide procurement training and compliance enhancement.Manage and develop a team of 2 professional buyers.Maintain vendor relations obtain through superior contract positions while mitigating risk in Production. Place purchase orders and monitor vendor service level, coordinating with Receiving and Accounts Payable to maintain account accuracy and delivery schedules.Ensure consistent targeted inventory levels and availability to deliver expected customer fill rate.Develop procurement programs consistent with the corporate strategy.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

5+ years of experience in procurement with 2+ years of manager experience. Preferably in the manufacturing industry.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage multi-stakeholder relationships and problem-solving.Ability to thrive under pressure and adhere to constant and challenging deadlines.Proficient skill in using Excel, ERP, or other procurement software and tools.Highly developed negotiating and project management skillsResearch skills in developing contacts and pricing structuresAdvanced analytical skills related to product line, vendor pricing strategies, sourcing and contracting.In depth understanding of manufacturing and distribution processing

 EDUCATIONAL AND INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

A bachelor’s degree in Purchasing Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred.Knowledge and technical understanding of automotive processes and components and supply chain managementCPM/CPSM or APICS Certification a plusERP Implementation a plus.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS

Maintain industry standards. The wearing of prescribed PPE is mandatory.
