They will be responsible for overseeing and managing the strategic procurement process, ensuring that goods and services are purchased at the best value, quality, and cost. The role involves managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and coordinating purchasing activities across various departments to meet operational needs. The Strategic Procurement Manager acts as the main liaison and person accountable for supplier selection, qualification, onboarding, and development thereby ensuring a successful ramp to production volumes. **Your main tasks and responsibilities:** + Meet the needs of the business by identifying, negotiating with and developing suppliers that can deliver materials, services or capital equipment on-time, accordingly to Sulzer quality standards and at a competitive cost + Develop strategy and deliver procurement savings + Utilize the specialized skill sets of category managers as needed + Acts as project manager with project status report-outs if required + Seeks out innovative manufacturing solutions when traditional methods do not meet the needs of the business + Manages vendor setup in requisite business systems such as MeerKat and SAP + Manages ERP / Material info records + Oversees vendor performance until production volumes are met and key vendor metrics are satisfactory + Oversees successful handoff of materials to operational procurement team once production volumes are met + Ensures alignment with global procurement metrics and standards **To succeed in this role, you will need:** + Must have a broad knowledge of rapid metal casting, fabrication, machining, and the processes required for motor manufacturing, rapid prototyping, etc. + Must be willing to travel for supplier visits, with an average of 50% of time spent away from the office. + Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or a minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. + Strong communication skills and excellent organizational abilities with attention to detail. + Computer skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of SAP is a plus. + PMP certification is a plus. **What we offer you:** + Full Medical, Dental and Vision benefits + Company paid Short Term and Long-Term Disability, Company Paid Life Insurance + 6% 401K or Roth Company Match with immediate vesting. + Company paid Retirement Security Contributions following 1 year of employment. + Annual bonus program. + Competitive Paid Time Off. + Half Days every Friday. + 11 company paid holidays per year. + Tuition reimbursement/educational assistance. + Quarterly gym reimbursement.
