About the Role 

An opportunity has become available for a Procurement Manager in either Gladstone QLD or North Ryde NSW for Downer’s Energy & Utilities business unit reporting to the Preconstruction Interface Manager. The Procurement Manager partners with stakeholders to plan, develop, source and manage procurement arrangements to effectively meet organisational and business objectives. The primary objective of the Procurement Manager is to develop the procurement plan and execute it well, engage with stakeholders and demonstrate that the vendors selected are providing the best overall value to Downer. The successful candidate will envision themselves attend to duties such as:

Managing the procurement activities for BU projects Ensuring procurement delivery in line with: Financial guidelines Program Delegation of authority Commercial compliance Supporting the project managers in delivery

 About You 

Degree in Finance preferred  P6 scheduling certification desirable 5 years relevant experience in similar role preferably in the utilities construction Industry  Ability to function as a Purchasing Agent and/Subcontract Administrator Excellent internal and external negotiation skills to manage projects and suppliers Able to attend to site visits (x4 per daily visits per month) Meticulous attention to detail Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
