PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
In addition to performing daily procurement related responsibilities, this position provides oversight and leadership to the Procurement team at CPKC. This position is accountable for the development, delivery and maintenance of procurement policies and strategy in line with the supply chain best practices. This position will be accountable for developing and managing KPIs and scorecard with meaningful measures of success and accountable for stakeholder management and service delivery.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Responsible for team oversite for mechanical and engineering materials and services procurement
• Supervises, coaches, and develops team members - Responsible for performance management of a team of 12. Includes managing PMP (establishing and monitoring performance goals), coaching for performance, and creating development/training plans
• Leads daily, weekly, bi-weekly business reviews
• Identify and implement improved procurement strategies
• Ensure Procurement Plan development and execution as per business requirements for both maintenance and programs
• Develop, execute and lead monthly KPI metrics with team and SP&S leadership and drive improvement actions
• Coordinate and manage other stakeholder meetings and input
• Coordinate drill down analysis for units held and inventory shortages with team
• Lead material master clean ups – Pgroup update, standardize short texts, MRP parameters
• Develop process for min/max usage analysis, lead analysis review with key stakeholders and implement system changes in material master
• Analyze and action obsolete material based on yearly obsolete budgets
• On an on-going basis, delivers in-class training programs to key stakeholders to ensure that policies, procedures and best-practices are clearly understood and supported by management within CPKC
• Develops and delivers methods and tools as required to monitor compliance to Sourcing & Procurement policies and procedures. Take action as required to communicate compliance-related issues reinforce training to address. Reports findings to upper management where appropriate.
• Acts as Procurement’s main point of contact with respect to Safety, Security and other similar programs
• Promote and coordinate team cross training
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• Post-Secondary Education preferably a University Degree (Business, Finance or Engineering an asset)
• At least five years of experience in Procurement and/or inventory management
• Some knowledge of railway industry
• Strong understanding of supply management processes
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to multi task and move a variety of initiatives forward at the same time
• Ability to develop and deliver informal and formal presentations and business cases on a port-folio specific topics in a credible and confident manner
• Ability to lead and motivate a team
• Ability to demonstrate customer service focus
• Ability to build consensus, influence and resolve conflict

Management Conductor Program:
