Job Description:
About the Role:
Analyze market trends and cost drivers to identify financial and supply risks and opportunities
Development and presentation of category strategies and coverage recommendations
Build a strong rapport with internal stakeholders to communicate the strategy, seek input and buy-in, and contribute to strategy execution
Oversee the accuracy of category cost projections
Document and drive the supplier strategy to support qualification of new materials and cross qualify new supply sources
Contribute to the development of total cost of ownership models
Serve as the primary supplier relationship holder for assigned categories
Optimize assigned categories by leveraging spend and pricing methodologies utilized throughout the group
Establish cross-functional teams to develop, plan and execute a strategy that ensures a competitive landscape and sustainable supply.
Lead the generation of initiatives and projects to deliver on the required productivity targets.
Conduct supplier accountability meetings by evaluating them with respect to Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Technology targets
Partner with the Value Engineering team to identify and manage project timelines to support the overall cost-out goals for the purchasing organization
Responsible and accountable for achievement of targets as defined by management and KPI’s
Design and execute negotiations with supply base through the contracting process
Develop / Facilitate relationships with major players in the marketplace to understand and stay abreast of industry changes which may impact various business management programs as it relates to pricing / technical trends
Ability to understand, communicate and enforce Procurement policies as it pertains to supplier and internal issues.
Important Details: This is a full-time permanent position located in our Oak Brook, IL corporate office on a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite / 2 days remote). There is approximately 20% travel requirements for this role.
About You:
You’ll fit right in if you have:
Bachelor’s degree (Business, Supply Chain, or related field)
Seven years’ experience in purchasing/procurement/supply chain
Expert in business process reengineering and program / project management
Expert ability with MS Office applications
ERP system experience
Standard Pricing/Forecast
Demonstrated command of complex sourcing, negotiating, and commodity strategies
Strong people management abilities with superior communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong leadership, initiative, and planning skills.
Critical thinker, with excellent analytic abilities
20% of travel required
