Primoris Power Solutions is seeking a Manager of Procurement to join our team supporting major projects as part of the project and construction management team. Primoris is pursuing projects in the industrial, utility and commercial market segments. The projects include substation, transmission, distribution, grid modernization, solar and other energy projects. Primoris Power Solutions provides a wide range of services from engineering, major equipment/material procurement and construction (EPC) management for HV power delivery and renewable energy customers.
Specific Duties:
Supply chain manager that oversees procurement for services, materials, and equipment while responsible for materials management. Interactions involve special skills, including negotiating with customers or managers or influencing senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization. Responsible for building and maintaining strategic relationships with substation, transmission and distribution major material vendors and subcontractors. Responsible for prequalification of suppliers and positioning PPS for obtaining preferred pricing and delivery. Evaluation of master service agreements where appropriate. Has control of planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, recommending and implementing changes to methods. Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the company. Participates in corporate development of methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people. Directs and controls activities of a broad functional area through several department managers. Requires extensive working knowledge of purchasing policies, processes and procedures. Recommends policies and procedures to govern procurement work. Leads all procurement talent for a large procurement office. Participates with management in development of material control strategies and plans. Performs analysis and utilization of estimates to predict key project issues. Participates in the evaluation of business opportunities and potential profitability. Reviews, trouble-shoots manpower estimates for material control and works with projects in improving the estimates. Applies material control knowledge and methodology to identify material control processes/project actions that may impact the project. Assumes mentoring and training roles and identifies high potential employees. Responsible for staffing decisions to meet project objectives and seek appropriate talent through prescribed company processes and procedures. Identifies gaps and implements methods for improving technical expertise. Develops training programs for material control, construction contracts, and materials contracts. Conducts training sessions as appropriate. Makes final decisions on contract administrative or operational matters. Ensures budgets and schedule meet corporate requirements.Educational & Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, procurement, or a construction related field with 10+ years of relevant experience in procurement management in the utilities, engineering or construction industry. 10+ years of relevant leadership experience. Understanding of procurement in relation to quality and assurance within the utilities field.
