The Procurement Operations Buyer is responsible for coordinating the flow of purchased material within Mercury’s global manufacturing and distribution facilities. The Procurement Operations Buyer partners internally within the operations team and externally with our global supply base to plan direct purchased materials, optimize inventory levels and drive continuous improvement within the supply base and Mercury operations and distribution.

Roles and Responsibilities

Operational

Utilize system tools to analyze and mitigate risk to ensure proper supply chain execution to support factory and distribution needsManage the coordination of the inbound supply chain and proactively communicate any possible obstacles to ideal efficiencyEffectively manage supplier relationships to understand and work through constraints within a complex supply chainProactively communicate delivery requirement changes to the supply baseAnalyze and improve supplier delivery performance, inventory cost and freight cost trade-offsManage and drive improvement to procurement operational support metricsMaintain appropriate inventory levels throughout the product lifecycleIdentify areas of improvement to capitalize on cost reduction using inventory management best practices (i.e. VMI, Pull, POC, etc.)

Collaboration

Develop and maintain effective business relationships with internal and external stakeholdersLead and support continuous improvement activities for Mercury processes and systems

Strategic

Drive execution of supplier management strategies to improve supply, cost, and risk managementIdentify and execute cost reduction projects within the supply chain

Required Qualifications

BS/BA in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain or closely related field2+ years of experience in supply chain and/or procurementExperience with supply chain management and planningExcellent data analysis abilities and software skills, including Microsoft Excel, Power BI; proficient with Word, PowerPoint, ProjectExcellent time management and organization skills, able to comfortably manage multiple ongoing projects, prioritize and adapt in response to changing business needsPositive attitude, ethics, and international values to promote a healthy, diverse, high performance culture

Preferred Qualifications

CPM and/or CPIM certificationLean and Six Sigma certification and application experience
