Procurement Professional Associate

Sumaria has an opening for a Procurement Professional Associate supporting the RGNext Operations Center in Huntsville, AL. RGNext operates, maintains, and sustains mission-critical systems to provide safe and effective launch, testing, and tracking of Department of Defense, civil, commercial and international space lift vehicles.

Process purchase requisitions to issue and administer purchase orders for goods or services ensuring compliance with purchasing procedures, Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) , Defense Acquisition Regulations (DFARS), and user requirements Train to understand and apply all aspects of bids, requests for quotes and proposals, including precise specifications, supporting spreadsheets, comparisons, recommendations, and justifications. Provide liaison services between vendors and departments for order status (expediting), procurement procedures, and problem resolution; research sources of supply; advise departments on cost effective alternatives. Assist in bid openings for competitive solicitations such as requests for quotes, bids, and proposals. Review and evaluate contracts and agreements (to include software agreements); issue award letters and purchase orders, negotiate change orders, and determine sole source validity. Maintain data regarding supplier information, files, reports, price lists on assigned commodities; negotiate prices and terms. Maintain records in accordance with established policies and procedures and audit guidelines. Expedite shipping and deliveries, price changes, and vendor back orders. Validate, reconcile, and process receiving reports, vendor invoices, and other payment documents. Other related duties as assigned. Required Skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively: Train to understand and implement purchasing requirements in accordance with FAR/DFAR requirements. Use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information. Evaluate procurement bids in accordance with established criteria. Analyze and solve problems. Document work in progress. Complete moderately complex administrative paperwork. Investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook. Required Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related discipline; or an equivalent combination of experience and education. Preferred experience: Have familiarity with FAR/DFAR requirements. Experience expediting orders with suppliers. Negotiating purchases and vendor agreements.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship or U.S. naturalization.
