Responsibilities
Our client is seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to lead and manage the research and negotiation of major organizational contracts and procurements in support of defense contracting operations. The candidate will apply extensive technical expertise and industry knowledge to develop innovative procurement solutions for complex challenges. This role also involves mentoring team members and overseeing contract management processes. U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of the work performed.
Research and negotiate contracts for hardware, software, and services in support of DoD Prime ContractsEvaluate procurement requirements, including FAR and DFARS flow-downs, performance work statements, and special requirementsEstablish CPSR-compliant procurement files for contracts exceeding $250,000, ensuring compliance with small business subcontracting plans, cost accounting standards, and Truth in Negotiation ActAssess and negotiate terms and conditions, identifying and mitigating risks based on purchase order type, commodity, and anticipated award valueReview statements of work and bills of materials for accuracy and completenessEvaluate source justifications to ensure procurement compliance with regulationsProvide guidance on contract requirements and procurement processes to internal stakeholdersRequirements
5+ years of experience in procurement for defense contractingExperience evaluating requirements for hardware and software procurements under DoD Prime Contracts, including FAR and DFARSProven ability to establish CPSR-compliant procurement files for contracts over $250,000Strong experience evaluating and negotiating terms and conditions to mitigate procurement risksExperience in evaluating software license agreements to ensure compliance with GSAM or GSARAbility to multitask and prioritize based on workload demandsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong organizational, consultative, and problem-solving skillsEducation/Certification Requirements
