As a key member of the Category Management team, the Procurement Specialist will support the group by managing procurement ERP data, developing and analyzing monthly category financial reports, leading the group through the budgeting and forecasting process, and collaborating with cross-functional teams for project reporting. 

Additionally, this role will participate in supplier relationship management, strategy development, performance improvement, negotiation, and establishing strategic plans to support company goals. This position is considered a foundational role with potential for growth into a Category Manager role. 

What You’ll Do

Data Management: 

Maintain and update procurement data in ERP for price books, terms, and suppliers. 

Coordinate supplier setup, conduct/manage RFQs, analyze and investigate purchase price variances, and assist in PO management as necessary. 

Collaborate with the supply chain team as needed in expediting part shortages, lead time management, etc. 

Assist in PO management, creating ad-hoc reports, and other related requirements. 

Support Category Managers with special projects to improve processes and data integrity. 

Data Analysis/Reporting: 

Manage, maintain, and issue Group monthly Purchase Price Variance reports, forecasts, slide decks, and project savings in collaboration with Category Leads, Finance, and Project Team. 

Develop reports and dashboards in Power BI to simplify the reporting process. 

Lead and simplify the yearly budgeting/forecasting process. 

Communicate regularly with management and suppliers about results to plan. 

Category Management: 

Strategy Development: For assigned categories, collaborate with the Category Lead to develop procurement strategies, RFQ development, project management, and risk management. 

Cost Savings: Pursue and track cost savings projects, including VAVE and negotiation opportunities. 

Supplier Performance: Monitor and identify/highlight improvement opportunities.

Analytical with superior problem-solving skills for both short-term and long-term planning. 

Strong business acumen and the ability to handle multiple, rapidly changing, and conflicting priorities, balancing workload due to a high volume of time-sensitive projects. 

Ability to work independently while remaining productive. 

Preferred mindset for continuous/process improvement with a foundational understanding of Lean concepts. 

Skills/Experience We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or related field required. 

Data Analytics/Scientist degree or certificate is preferred. 

Fluent in written and spoken English. 

Experience with and solid understanding of ERP/MRP systems. 

Heavy data analysis, including working knowledge in Power BI and advanced skills in MS Excel. 

Strong computer skills and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. 

Travel requirements: Less than 10% 

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of business experience in a related field.
