Job Title: Procurement Specialist
Job Description

We are seeking an intermediate Procurement Specialist to join our team on a 12-month contract-to-hire basis. This role will support the procurement of goods and services, lead the RFP and RFQ process, negotiate terms and conditions, manage vendor relationships, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to support project goals. The successful candidate will report to the Supply Chain Manager and will be responsible for leading meetings and presentations to executive-level stakeholders.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and optimize opportunities and mitigate risks in collaboration with the SCM team.Identify and mitigate operational and enterprise risk related to vendors and parts/service supply/cost for growth projects.Manage confidential information while working with clients, stakeholders, and suppliers.Gather, disseminate, analyze, and report market intelligence specific to the renewable industry.Identify, manage, and coordinate with vendors and contractors.Assist with qualifying vendors for transactions, including safety and financial qualification.Collaborate with growth project teams, operations, corporate groups, and external stakeholders to ensure superior returns on investments.Resolve invoice delays and payment issues with vendors and contractors.Form, administer, and close out contracts for one or multiple projects.Analyze historical costs, capital plans, and bid rates, and recommend sourcing strategies.Support the operationalization and governance framework across projects and existing assets.Assist project teams and requisition originators in developing scopes of work and forming contracts and purchase orders.Prepare and issue RFQs, RFIs, and RFPs, identify suppliers, and summarize offerings.Optimize costs through negotiation, contract development/execution, and consolidation of business unit/project requirements.Facilitate timely completion of transactions between customers, stakeholders, and suppliers.Administer and monitor contracts to ensure strong relationships and low costs from critical suppliers.Represent PD&C SCM to provide the best overall service levels and value.Perform other SCM activities on an ad-hoc basis to support the fast-paced project and construction environment.Essential Skills8 years of experience in procurement.Experience with SAP or relevant ERP systems.Experience in procurement of services and materials, especially in the Energy, Utility, and EPC industries.Experience in purchasing and service contracts.Experience leading an RFP from start to finish.Experience leading meetings and having executive-level conversations.Experience negotiating terms and conditions.Experience with SCM processes, practices, metrics, and relationship management.Ability to understand and manage risk effectively.Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SAP, Wave, and SharePoint.Ability to identify key legal and commercial issues.Strong prioritization and organizational skills.Willingness to travel as needed for vendor representation and governance assurance.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in finance and market intelligence data.Experience with regulatory and legal requirements related to asset operations.Educational background in Engineering, SCM, or Business.Canadian experience.Work Environment

The role reports to the Manager, Growth SCM (PD&C). The position is based at the Calgary office, with hybrid work options available (remote work on Mondays and Fridays). Working hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with some flexibility. The team consists of seven members.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $110000.00
