Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Procurement Specialist in Lakewood, Washington, United States. In this role, you will be contributing to the strategic purchasing operations and accounts payable processes within our organization.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and ensure the accuracy of purchasing operations and supplier information.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures related to the purchasing processes.
• Handle month-end and year-end procedures for purchasing activities.
• Monitor accounts payable operations, guaranteeing the security and accuracy of all financial transactions.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of accounts payable processes.
• Supervise month-end and year-end closing processes for accounts payable.
• Review, approve, and ensure timely payments and reports in accounts payable, resolving any vendor complaints regarding payments.
• Provide guidance to staff regarding fiscal requirements and project planning.
• Develop and present fiscal management reports to promote effective accounting practices.
• Oversee the District Receiving, Print Shop, and Courier services department.
• Serve as a liaison for accounting policy interpretation and ensure compliance with laws and regulations through the development and maintenance of district policies.
• Ensure timely reporting to internal and external stakeholders, including state and federal agencies.
• Conduct financial analysis and reconciliation duties to ensure accurate reporting.
• Participate in accounting month-end and annual closing processes.
• Serve as backup for other fiscal services activities as needed. Requirements • Proven experience as a Procurement Specialist
• Proficiency in 3M
• Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
• Expertise in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and ERP Solutions
• Understanding of Budget Processes and Buying Processes
• Excellent Customer Service skills
• Experience with Invoicing and Accounts Payable (AP)
• Strong Management skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
