Procurement Specialist

Aplin has partnered with a leader in the construction industry to hire a Procurement Specialist for their Toronto team. Reporting to the Senior Director of Infrastructure, you will oversee and manage the procurement process for our infrastructure engineering projects, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and value optimization.
Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement procurement strategies for civil engineering projects in line with company policies and procedures.Identify potential suppliers, evaluate proposals, and negotiate contracts to ensure the best value.Ensure all procurement activities comply with legal and ethical standards.Manage supplier relationships, ensuring timely delivery and addressing any issues.Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to understand procurement requirements and develop suitable procurement plans.Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.Maintain accurate procurement records, including contracts, purchase orders, and performance metrics.Ensure compliance with all applicable procurement laws and regulations.Qualifications and Skills:6+ years of procurement experience, preferably in the infrastructure industry.Strong knowledge of procurement processes including sourcing, contracting, negotiation, and supplier management.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Proven ability to develop and implement effective procurement strategies.Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities across organizational levels.Knowledge of procurement-related laws and regulations.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement software.
