Who You Are:
Versar Global Solutions is looking for a Procurement Specialist to support time-sensitive, deadline driven program requirements. This role will engage and work cooperatively with program operations, contracts, accounts payable, IT, business development, pricing and others. This position will require someone with great organizational and time management skills, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
What You’ll Do:
Issues purchase orders for all general procurement supplies, services, subcontracts and independent contractors within the agreed timeline.Reviews all purchase requisitions or work orders for completeness and accuracy in accordance with procurement procedures as required.Expedites delivery/performance, where appropriate and maintains document file.Promotes the small business program by targeting business opportunities with such companies.Negotiates and administers purchase orders for supplies and services in accordance with public law, far/dfars and procurement policy and procedures.Closes out completed procurement files and processes them in accordance with records retention procedures.Liaise closely with accounts payable team to ensure timely payment of invoices within agreed vendor termsMaintain high ethical and professional standards always as a key representative of the Versar to outside suppliers.Support pre-award surveys and supplier evaluations. Assist in various internal and external audits, including but not limited to DCMA CPSR, small business program reviews.Work with the Contracts/Subcontracts team to resolve vendor/contractor grievances, and claims.Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.Lead by example

Associate’s degree in related field or High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with minimum of two years related Procurement experience required. Bachelor’s degree in business or related field desirable1-3 years in a government contracting purchasing or similar role, preferred but not essentialDeltek Costpoint experience is highly desirable.Proficient in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint)Great organizational skills and attention to detail.Proven problem-solving abilities and the ability to work effectively and accurately under pressure.Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to manage multiple requests, assess priorities, and consistently achieve deadlines.Seeking a strong collaborator with demonstrated ability to work successfully with cross functional teams.Must be proficient in English, both written and verbal, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.Successful results of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen.Comply with company drug and alcohol policy.Be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate’s start date.Compensation
Expected Salary: $45/hour
