Responsibilities

Our client is seeking a Procurement Specialist Buyer to research, negotiate, and manage major contracts and procurements for defense contracting. The ideal candidate will apply advanced consulting expertise to develop innovative solutions to procurement challenges while ensuring compliance with federal regulations. This role also involves mentoring team members and working independently to manage procurement processes. Due to the nature of the work, U.S. citizenship is required.

Research and negotiate contracts for hardware, software, and services in support of DoD government Prime ContractsApply expertise to evaluate procurement requirements, including FAR and DFARS flow-downs, performance work statements, and special requirementsEstablish CPSR-compliant procurement files for contracts exceeding $250,000, including small business subcontracting plans, cost accounting standards, and Truth in Negotiation ActEvaluate and negotiate terms and conditions, identifying and mitigating risks based on the purchase order type, commodity, and award valueReview statements of work and bills of materials for completeness and complianceEvaluate source justifications to ensure procurement compliance with federal regulationsEducate stakeholders on contract requirements and procurement processes

Requirements

5+ years of experience in procurement for defense contractingExperience in hardware and software procurement for DoD Prime Contracts, including FAR and DFARS requirementsProven ability to establish CPSR-compliant procurement files for contracts over $250,000Experience in evaluating and negotiating terms and conditions to mitigate procurement risksExperience with evaluating software license agreements for compliance with GSAM or GSARAbility to multitask and prioritize based on workload demandExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong organizational, consultative, and problem-solving skills
