Procurement Specialist (f/m/d)

About the Role: We are looking for a Procurement Specialist (f/m/d) to provide operational and day-to-day procurement support for our Business Units Automotive and Industrial within the Global Procurement team. In this role, you will drive continuity of supply and support the implementation of GORE's strategic sourcing strategies for critical suppliers and contract manufacturing operations in close alignment with category managers and various supply chain functions. The ideal candidate is a process driven, solution-oriented and hands-on individual.

  

This role is a 12-month temporary role and will be located at our facility in Pleinfeld, near Nuremberg, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.

 

Responsibilities: 

Participate in the development of the category strategy and support the execution of the implementation plan i.e., support implementation of category award decisions / new contracts / new supplier relationships including onboarding of new suppliers/ contract manufacturers and validation of raw materials and managing technical transfers Establish an effective interface and drive manufacturing readiness at the contract manufacturer Manage risk of Gore’s supply chain to guarantee a continuous supply of raw material, services and/or product technologies and lead supplier/contract manufacturer issues resolution in cooperation with other functions and category managers Non-conformance management of goods and services Working closely with other functions to support the implementation of new product launches Drive supplier/contract manufacturer compliance to regulated industry requirements such as supporting specification development, audits, and other validation activities necessary in close collaboration with other functions to ensure compliant execution of procurement Coordinate and execute purchasing activities with suppliers/contract manufacturers, drive and monitor cost and inventory reduction projects and developing continues improvement plans Lead and contribute to regional/global projects as required (SAP implementation) Monitor supplier/contract manufacturer performance based on agreed KPIs and execute business and performance reviews Procure assigned materials and/or new suppliers that do not fall into a strategic category

 

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Engineering, Business or Operations with at least 3 years of experience in supplier relationship management OR 3 or more years’ experience in purchasing Experience with supplier relationship management establishing expectations, fairly addressing performance or quality issues, and holding others accountable Proven negotiation skills Experience in SAP Proven ability to effectively work cross functionally Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration Excellent German and English communication skills Ability to work independently and manage ambiguity Ability to travel locally up to 10%
