About the opportunity
Australia Post is changing, and to help our business achieve its Strategic Priorities (Post26 Strategy), our Group Procurement team is growing to support the change. It's all about winning in e-commerce and creating great digital experiences for our business, all while reimagining our post office network as we simplify our products and services, and the Group Procurement team is at the centre of many of these exciting and changing activities.
What you’ll deliver with us
Reporting to the ‘Strategic Procurement Manager’, your role is to support the execution of end-to-end procurement strategies. You will partner with the Network Operations Linehaul business, and where relevant, support cross-functional activity across broader areas of the enterprise.
You will also work closely with the Procurement function to undertake end-to-end procurement engagement, including stakeholder engagement and management, category planning and development, portfolio management and support contract negotiation to contract finalisation.
This role requires a high level of organisation, planning capability and analyst skills to deliver strong value for the Linehaul function.
You’ll also
Execute sourcing and procurement strategies for the Linehaul function; including the collection of business requirements, creating sourcing plans, engaging the market (RFx), evaluating proposals, making procurement recommendations, and executing contracts, renewals, and amendments under tight deadlinesIdentify opportunities for cost optimization; supporting procurement strategies to enhance business capabilities, reduce costs, and maintain a low-cost base through analysis like market research, benchmarking, and spend analysisSupplier and stakeholder management; building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders, managing supplier performance, and leading negotiations for optimal commercial outcomesSupport and execute category/portfolio plans; ensuring alignment with business unit needs and track/report cost savings, reductions, and value-added benefitsSupport the Senior Sourcing Manager/Category Lead in establishing procurement standards that ensure efficient, effective, economical, and ethical supplier management in partnership with the relevant business areasAbout you
Minimum 5 years’ strategic procurement experienceBroad experience in fleet, logistics, automation and associated servicesLarge corporate exposure to sourcing practices and processes sound commercial knowledge and understanding, including an understanding of national/global providers, contract law, probity practices, and proceduresProven experience in supplier relationship management within a large organisation across several categories.Experience in managing and working with multiple senior stakeholdersDemonstrated experience building relationships as a trusted advisor and working with multiple senior stakeholdersExcellent written and verbal skills, including the ability to present to senior stakeholdersExperience with Ariba Source to Contract is highly desirable
