Procurement Specialist – MRO – Dublin, GA
The opportunity:
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for the procurement of chemicals, parts, labor & equipment to support the mill. The individual will work closely with internal customers (mill personnel), external customers (suppliers of products/services), Corporate Procurement and Mill Purchasing, to secure product and/or services to cover mill usage requirements.
The Procurement Specialist submits requests for quotes, reviews & evaluates bids, schedules meetings with prospective bidders & negotiations, processes and monitors blanket service purchase orders/purchase orders. Orders are awarded based on either corporate procurement contracts/agreements or mill purchasing agreements. Work within mill and corporate directives and follow guidelines in the management services above. Performs functions needed for dispute resolution/problem solving. Pre-qualifies “new” contractors with WestRock requirements for on-site support establishing agreements.

Monitor and work with operations to ensure chemicals are ordered and delivered.Be able to contact alternate suppliers if regularly scheduled shipments are interrupted or declare force majeure Leading RFP’s and review of competitive proposals from suppliers for award decisionsContract implementation - including developing and leading negotiations of complex agreements in partnership with legal, compliance, risk, supply chain and all other stakeholders.Point of contact for escalation and primary negotiator to resolve mill issues with service providersLead continuous improvement to drive meaningful changes in process, supplier or material to deliver value beyond priceProcess purchase requisitions and orders to secure products and/or services as required. Evaluate, and implement orders where needed.Coordinate and consult with internal and external customers regarding purchase requirements following corporate procurement guidelines.Compiles data for mill and corporate reports as requested.Perform internal WestRock audits and external supplier audits Responsible for conducting business with integrity and respect, being accountable, and actively pursuing excellence to help achieve WestRock’s Path To One goals.What you need to succeed:
Bachelor's Degree preferred, with 5-8 years of procurement experience. Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to prepare and present Strong negotiation skills & attention to detailAbility to multi-task and prioritizeSelf-directed with minimal supervisionMust be able to manage a project timeline & have capability to own and drive execution for projects in which other people contributeStrong analytical and planning capabilities are a must, as is the ability to appropriately summarize key issues and provide guidance to individualsProficiency in computer skills including MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, WordAligned with our company values of Integrity, Respect, Accountability, and Excellence
