Position Description
The Travel team supports strategies to deliver sustainable and cost-efficient results across all Travel categories by identifying new opportunities for value and process improvement. This position requires a strong sense of urgency and the ability to succinctly frame issues and alternatives to drive decisions forward. A successful Travel Intern will be eager to work with travel partners such as airlines, hotels, and RaceTrac’s designated Travel Management Company as they support travelers. The Travel Intern must be a good communicator with a desire to learn more about travel technology, change management, and customer service with respect to corporate travel.
Manage relationship and performance of travel vendors
· Performs complex data analysis to provide sound business recommendations and identify gaps
· Assists with measuring and assessing program performance against negotiated KPIs and industry benchmarks
· Identifies and implements ways to continually improve and maximize travelers’ experience
· Assists with strategically improving online adoption, processes, efficiencies, and cost savings for the travel program with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation
· Research opportunities and develop guidelines for corporate policy and vendor partners
· Supports programs and policies for Air, Hotel, Ground Transportation, Rentals, as well as Duty of Care
Responsibilities:
ResponsibilitiesSupport the designated departments’ specific project needs.Actively contribute to day-to-day functions within the department role.Identifies and executes individual projects as requested by department leadership.Provides support with special projects as needed.Qualifications:
Current enrollment in a college or university with a major in Hotel and Motel Management, Tourism and Travel Management, Hospitality Administration, Business Administration, or a related field
Previous Intern experience in Procurement or corporate travel management including competitive bidding and negotiation
Knowledge of Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, Office)Preferred GPA 3.0 or higher
