PRODUCER RELATIONS / CONTRACTING SPECIALIST
**Description** Producer Relations / Contracting Specialist We are looking for a Producer Relations / Contracting Specialists for JBS that strengthens JBS relationships with new and existing producers. These roles will be based out of Plainwell, MI. Responsibilities: + Strengthen JBS relationships with new and existing producers + Grow JBS producer population + Develop or help develop plant specific procurement strategy + Expanding the number of cattle contracted to JBS plants + Responsible for some cattle procurement and associated activities + Responsible for cattle contracting from cattle feeders + Responsible for cattle procurement and associated activities within a certain region based on plant locations + Work with independent contractors to satisfy cattle needs for the company + Work with cattle feeders to monitor cattle numbers in their respective area + Bidding procedures and prices + Responsible for 3 or 4 state area for contracting cattle + Communicate estimate grades, estimate yields, and cost to next day kill for Head Buyer or Cattle Procurement + Travel to farms to purchase and evaluate cattle + Frequent communication with contracting manager, head cattle buyer, coworkers, accounting department, and other plant personnel regarding purchasing, quality, and quality of live cattle + Frequent communication with farmers and truckers regarding purchase, quality, quantity and delivery of live cattle + Other duties as assigned Qualifications: + Minimum High School diploma with agriculture knowledge and background + Minimum 1-year previous experience in cattle procurement + Ability to visually assess weight and potential yield of cattle + Good verbal and written communication skills + Must be able to physically maneuver among and manipulate live cattle + Employee will typically work M-F with some weekend hours as needed + Approximately 75% of work time will be traveling throughout Iowa, Minnesota, and Indiana. + Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation + As a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations.
