The Biz Ops & Analytics team is looking for a seasoned Product Analyst to support multiple product managers in a pod-embedded model. Product Prioritization & Planning, Identifying key metrics, supervising data instrumentation, and delivering planned and ad hoc insights, will be top priorities for this role. The role is expected to guide PMs to accomplish business outcomes, improve retention and revenue expansion, and enable Sales & Marketing with monetisation and account renewal efforts
What you will do:
Supporting PMs and Product Designers deliver new or improved features, to help customers accomplish their Jobs-to-be-done; the driving framework behind HackerRank’s product roadmap
Supporting Product and Content marketing teams, with data stories and nuggets from the HackerRank platform, that strengthen the company’s brand as an authority in Technical Hiring
Helping design, execute and interpret user journeys to accelerate product activation, retention, engagement, and monetization
Exploring large, diverse and complex datasets to create actionable insights
Owning and developing queries, analysis and visualizations for ad-doc, recurring, troubleshooting requests and projects
You will thrive in this role if:
You have a deep understanding of the product area, the user personas, the target market, and competitive products / alternative solutions
You are able to work with a “briefing” level guidance on requests by PMs, and do not need detailed requirement documents, by developing answers iteratively and having PMs react to your line-of-approach
You are smart about when the analytics solution requires high level accuracy vs. directional answers
You are able to provide answers when data quantity and data quality are an issue through creative approaches ranging from sampling to bootstrapping to finding proxies etc.
What you will also bring:
Minimum 4-5 years of experience as a business intelligence analyst, data analyst, or product analyst with a proven record of impacting business
Minimum 2+ years of experience focused on feature and usage metrics, A/B testing, conversion and retention, segmentation, and developing user personas and their usage patterns
Capability to own and deliver projects end-to-end with minimal guidance
Expert knowledge of SQL and MS Excel
Intermediate scripting skills using Python libraries such as Pandas, and Numpy for Data Science, Data Manipulation and File Processing
Understanding of data modeling concepts and partnering on building new DW tables
Hands-on data visualization experience through Looker or a comparable platform is strongly preferred
Knowledge of basic statistical concepts with emphasis on statistical hypothesis testing (t-tests, z-tests, etc.). Experience with A/B and multivariate testing is preferred
Detail-oriented and expert in both qualitative and quantitative analysis with a passion for delivering actionable insights to key stakeholders
Strong product and business acumen with aptitude to apply it critically towards solving problems
Excellent interpersonal skills — including written and oral communication skills
Nice to have: (optional)
Bachelors or higher degree in Information Management, MIS, Business Analytics, or related field
Strong experience with large data sets, clickstream application analytics
Familiarity with Talent Acquisition space
