The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

The Product Application Specialist supports go-to-market initiatives, and sales execution as a subject matter expert of assigned products and services

Additional Information

This position is located in Mossville, IL and does not offer relocation

Up to 50% travel is expected with this role, both domestic and international

What You Will Do

Supports the field failure and analysis for Caterpillar machines

Provides support for hose and hose assembly selection used on Caterpillar Machines

Provides fluid line design support and auditing services in person and virtually

Interacts with the global partners to improve product quality and performances based on field failure analysis

Generates initial stocking reports and collaborates with external partners to refine bulk product stocking recommendations

Provides hose assembly area set up and start up assistance including equipment selection

Provides loose & leak training for hose and coupling products as the SME (Subject Matter Expert)

Supports North American ASR’s and dealers on site (mine, quarry, construction, specific machine) conversions for hoses and couplings

Provides tooling and HIS support before, during and after equipment installation

Provides support to resolve product application and compliance related issues

Supports OEM, both existing and new business product requests and quotes

Visits OEM and Round-Trip facilities to maintain and foster business relationships

Performs field failure and warranty analysis for OEM customers

What You Have

Bachelor's degree in Engineering

Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.

Customer Focus: Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.

Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

Products and Services: Knowledge of major products and services and product and service groups; ability to apply knowledge of product and service appropriately to diverse situations.

Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

What Will Set You Apart

Working knowledge of Caterpillar and competitive Hose and Coupling products

Experience operating Hose and Coupling assembly equipment

Experience converting competitive hose and coupling branding into equivalent Caterpillar brand product.

Ability to provide training on the use of the HIS and HIS modules such as Black Book and Hose Builder Tool

Experience in NPI

General knowledge of mining processes and equipment, underground and surface mine experience. Completed MSHA new miner training for underground and surface mines, metal and non-metal.

Experience working with Cat Dealers and ASCs/ASRs to support growth goals

Summary Pay Range:

$110,520.00 - $165,840.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
