Job Summary
Under general supervision, uses knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience to implement opportunities for assigned products including product enhancements, and process improvements with potential for improved client/advisor service, increased operational quality, efficiency, and cost savings. Manages projects with small to moderate scope and impact. Supports projects with significant scope and impact. Works as part of a team on assignments that are broad in nature requiring originality and ingenuity. Works closely with SBL Product team to understand department priorities and issues and ensures that product enhancements address key opportunities and deficiencies. Partners with business development teams on product positioning and education. End results are evaluated for achieving goals and objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Basic project management duties including project kick off, creation of project plans, baseline/project time management, task tracking, and reporting.
• From a product manager perspective, may lead small project streams.
• Lead projects from a planning perspective in the implementation and execution of technology, new products, product enhancements, and process improvements.
• Supports with procedures and policy updates.
• Assists with forms/application/legal agreement changes and updates. Ensures changes and updates are up to date with forms, applications, and legal agreements.
• Develops and maintains SBL marketing materials, resources, and online content.
• Conducts User Acceptance Testing.
• Conducts production validation (which may occasionally require candidate to work hours outside of 9-5 including nights and weekends).
• Assists in analyzing process and product improvement recommendations to ensure business cases are sound and that all options are addressed, and potential risks identified.
• Develops and maintains relationships with other business units, inclusive of PCG, to help maintain the strategic partnership direction of SBL.
• Assists in researching and resolving escalated advisor/client complaints.
• Maintains currency on SBL industry changes, trends, process improvement techniques, methodologies and practices.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
