Kforce has a client in Cupertino, CA that is seeking a Product Design Engineer. Responsibilities: * Assess current program requirements while prioritizing future flexibility and modularity in design * Identify and track issues that may affect program scope, timelines, or budgets * Identify when to utilize external vendor knowledge on particular designs/systems * Understand the project scope from internal teams and clearly communicate design requirements, feedback, and ownership to external vendors * Develop and manage detailed project CAD/Documentation; Ensuring alignment for internal documentation with anything developed by outside vendor * Building physical models to evaluate functionality, manufacturability, and robustness * Select off-the-shelf components and develop designs that are cost-effective and easy to manufacture in-house or through external vendors for supporting infrastructure and tools * Analyzing data generated from lab experiments and vendor builds to inform engineering decisions * Traveling both domestically and internationally, to piece part and assembly vendors to realize the physical design and finding root cause for failures
