THE JOB

We are searching for ambitious, highly motivated, creative and thoughtful Product Design Intern(s)! 

As a Product Design Intern, you will work hands on with our world-class product delivery teams to provide user experience design, visual/interface design, interaction design and research support on a wide range of projects across our broad global portfolio. Your contributions will reach over billion fans and clients around the world as we define, innovate and evolve our products. 

The role is open to recent graduates or current, gap-year undergraduates on a degree course looking for a 12-month placement. Candidates in accredited digital design or product design programs with focus in user experience (UX) and/or user interface (UI) design are preferred but not required. This is a paid, 12-month position.

You have a promising introductory design portfolio of thoughtful, easy-to-use websites, mobile applications, visual and/or product design work. Passion and interest in design, user behavior, technology, psychology, business and current and future trends are critical. Ability to use industry standard design software (Adobe CS, Figma, Sketch, etc.), code or prototype is a bonus. Strong conceptual, design, and/or typography skill are desired.

The most important factors we are looking for are: 1) Creativity; 2) Solid design education or committed background; 3) Ability to work and think independently; 4) Ability to understand and manage complexity; 5) Ability to problem solve (nothing is unachievable!); and 6) Aptitude for learning, and 7) Handling multiple projects at once.

You will need to be open to an almost start-up mentality (but with the resources and scale of a global company!). You will be expected to prioritize within a busy environment, while having the willingness to learn and adapt to how this complex company works.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Assist senior members of the team on complex product design (UX/UI) and brand/product marketing design activities on large-scale, global productsUse and learn to adopt core information architecture and interaction design skills to take UX design deliverables through a full project lifecycleConduct user and competitive researchIdentify user types, scenarios, journeys, and learn to develop strategic UX visionGenerate wireframes, storyboards, prototypes, and other required documentationUnderstand long-term vision and strategic business goals of the departmentMaintain our various UX research, documentation, and brand asset librariesConduct internal QA tests to ensure deliveries meet initial UX/design specificationsHelp senior and mid-weight UX designers plan, execute, and analyze usability tests and maintain a database of test subjectsWork with the Analytics and product management teams to make measurable UX decisionsKeep skills fresh and be informed of industry best practices as well as technical and design trends

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (or TECHNICAL SKILLS/COMPETENCIES)

Graduates - Minimum 2:1 (UK)/3.0 GPA (USA) or above degree in a design or relevant disciplineUndergraduates – currently achieving 2:1 (UK)/3.0 (USA) or above results & eligible for a 12 month placement as part of your University courseBasic grounding in principals, methodology and practices of UX with a thoughtful portfolio showcasing one or more of the following skills, i.e. information architecture / content strategy / user experience / research / usability testing / web designIntermediate understanding of capabilities and limitations of technologies that are used to create powerful user experiences including JavaScript, AJAX, HTML, Flash, CSS, SQLIntermediate level knowledge (minimum) of industry standard wireframing and design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Zeplin, Axure, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), etc. expectedExperience using Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word is a must Must have a design portfolio showcasing website, mobile, and/or other UX design skills
