Job Description

H&M Production is the place where design ideas are transformed into actual products. We are in over 20 sourcing markets and are the direct point of contact for local suppliers. We work to ensure our products are of good quality and produced at the best price and in a sustainable way.

 

And we are currently building pipeiine for Product Developer for footwear, bags & belts products. 

As a Product Developer, you play a key role in securing best products from customer perspective in connection with global assortment strategies. You work with global teams and co-execute the market development plans and supplier/product strategies on the product categories. You secure the product development flow and handle the sample process, and you seek further possibilities and opportunities in your local market. You understand customers’ needs and proactively educate suppliers to make products to meet our customers’ needs. You also play an important role in solving problems. You promote and share sustainable innovations covering both components and processes, such as 3D sampling, VSR and the similar.  

Key responsibilities:

In line with our product strategies, execute market development plans and supplier/product strategies, and secure best products to meet our customers' needsSecure product development flow and handle sample processProactively educate suppliersTake initiatives in problem solvingPromote and share sustainable innovations. 

Qualifications

To succeed as a Product Developer, you have extensive knowledge of customers and products. You also have knowledge of price, material and components, construction and technology, and have relevant experience. You work closely with T1/T2 on building the same customer understanding among suppliers. You collaborate with global teams and various stakeholders to co-execute the set strategies and activities. You are business minded. You work as a role model of our H&M values.  

What you need to succeed: 

At least 3 years' relevant work experience in footwear, bags & belts.  Good knowledge and experience in secure the product development of footwear, bags & belts.  Good knowledge of price, materials, components, construction and technology of respective product types.  Fluent in English communication.  Teamwork and collaboration mindset and skills.  Business minded Experience of working at brand’s buying office is a plus.  

Additional Information

This is a fulltime permanent position, starting as soon as possible according to agreement. The role is an on-site position, based in our office in Shanghai, China.
