Product Development Chemist, Expert

As the Product Development Chemist will work in the laboratory as a member of automotive refinish product development team in CIC (Allison Park, PA). Reporting directly to the Manager for New Product Development of Clearcoat and A&S of Automotive Refinish you will lead independent projects or portions of larger project to develop and commercialize new clearcoat products.  You will use resource and provide technical solutions to challenging problems. 

Key Responsibilities

Develop and launch new Refinish clearcoat product on time in full

Work with global development labs, research team, marketing team, production team and customers to lead projects forward

Use Sigma logic methodology for design of experiment and data analysis

Provide support to customer and production related issues

Communicate and share knowledge within the team and with collaborators

Learn and improve as personal and as part of the team

Work on multiple projects simultaneously, adjusting priorities and timelines to adapt to changing demands.

Maintain a detailed laboratory notebook

Maintain a safe, clean work area

Qualifications

Degrees in Chemistry or related field

Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of formulation experience, master’s degree with 5+ years of formulation experience

Knowledge of common coating formula techniques and testing procedures 

Must be a team player, collaborative and willing to give credit
