YOUR ROLE Seeking a chemist to develop sealants technology for the metal packaging industry within APP Metals Packaging team
Responsible to lead new product developments (PDP), strategic sourcing projects/incremental product changes (MOC) and cost chase projects (COGS) consistent with business strategy; aligns technical path to meet commercialization time lines.
Ability to take products from the lab bench to commercial scale up and validation
Research and develop new technology platforms and identify opportunities for new technologies, products or performance improvements, using sound experimental design strategies.
Propose and develop new formulations in line with customer expectations, market opportunities and commercial potential
Prepare and deliver presentations on research projects for internal teams, management, customers and/or technical conferences.
Effectively work in cross functional teams across different time zones with members from product development, project management, application engineering, process engineering, marketing, and sales.
Knowledgeable and experienced with commercial sourcing of chemicals and equipment to support product development lab operations
Assures all new products meet international chemical health and safety requirements and other regulations (ie: food contact)
Serve as technical contact for external customers, sales, marketing and operations
Assist in supervision of day-to-day work of laboratory technician(s)
Ensures compliance with Henkel corporate SHE standards (ie: 5S), policies and procedures and manages the lab and innovation process (Albert) YOUR SKILLS Ph.D., Chemistry is required
Background in polymer chemistry/rubber dispersion chemistry, materials science / mechanical property testing, and rheology desired
1-3 years working experience in Chemical industry with proven track record of product commercialization.
Goal-oriented, self-motivated, team oriented, organized, hands on, resourceful. 

The salary for this role is $70,000.00 - $95,000.00. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
