Job Title:  Product Development Engineer - Vokey Wedges

Salary Range: $86,000.00 – $107,000.00 /annual; plus, bonus eligibility

Summary: Possesses and applies fundamental knowledge of golf club design and engineering to complete production development projects. Coordinates development programs designed to complete specific product opportunities requiring the integration of new and unique approaches as well as Industrial Design requirements. Works with management and Concept Development to critically evaluate specific project opportunities in an organized manner to align with production program critical path schedule requirements. Works with latitude for un-reviewed actions or decisions. Provides project management and technical support to the development of new golf club designs/products.

Responsibilities:

Coordinates golf club development, with an emphasis on integrating concept development technologies with Industrial/Graphic Design considerations to produce production-ready platforms. Works with management direction to manage the communication process, action items schedules and deliverables of new product development projects from design through manufacturing phases for on time launch.  Collaborates with Asia based suppliers to identify, trouble shoot and resolve issues as needed. Travels to Asia based suppliers to facilitate the design and development of new products, as well as provides face-to-face communication of projects.  Pursues comprehensive patents in project associated areas by submitting invention records and actively supporting intellectual property efforts. Maintains fundamental knowledge of state-of-the-art materials/processes, USGA golf club product specification regulations, competitive specifications, patents, and trends. Works with management to identify potential applications to golf club design and initiates their implementation when appropriate. Refines new processes as needed for new products, business/communication process improvement and to assist in delivering the department and company objectives. Conducts and coordinates testing and analysis for product validation and qualification and robust design. Evaluates and reports testing results to management. Coordinates the development and release of all necessary engineering and technical documentation related to production golf club projects. Utilizes CAD resources to support product development. Works with management to develop, create and revise product specifications. Coordinates with Quality team to implement acceptable quality criteria and limit samples. Assists in qualification, readiness, and product information distribution to assembly facilities for effective manufacturing preparedness.

 

Qualifications: 

B.S. Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or similar Engineering discipline. A minimum of 3 years in Consumer goods, product design/development or R&D role required. Fundamental knowledge of tooling and processes, project management, technical drawing and writing. Golf club design, engineering, and development experience preferred. Must be able / willing to travel to Asia 4-6 times/year.
