Product Development Engineer

As a Product Engineer, you will combine specialized knowledge and principles of mechanical engineering with significant experience of radio controlled model cars to design, build, test, and analyze RC products. This will include the creation of parts and engineering drawings for prototype and production at both domestic and international vendors, and creation of exploded views for instruction manuals.

Pay for this position - $60,000-75,000/year. Placement within the pay range is based on experience and qualifications. This position may also be eligible for a quarterly bonus not included in the pay range. 

Roles & Responsibilities

Vision/Mission: Understands how their assigned technical element practically interfaces with other technical areas, and business unit’s mission. Functional Competence: Subject matter knowledgeable with ability to deliver results based on direction provided. Able to research, evaluate, troubleshoot, and assist in root cause analysis and resolution. Highly analytical and detailed oriented. Execution: Manages day-to-day delivery of project output. Monitors progress to goal throughout each phase of the project. Results Orientation: Impatiently seeks results and capitalizes aggressively on opportunity for improvement.

Education and/or Experience

B. S. in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent academic discipline) with emphasis in Product Design from an ABET Accredited University. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and applications. Knowledge of Material Science Product and platform engineering and design processes. Knowledge of how R/C cars and accessories are used and maintained. First-hand experience in operation and tuning R/C cars at a hobby level. Manufacturing process involving plastic injection, compression, and transfer molding. Proficient in Solidworks. Willingness to create 2D prints. Domestic and International Travel A minimum of 2 years manufacturing processes and applications experience preferred. Ability to solve technical problems quickly and completely. 2+ Years of Solidworks experience. Ability to work productively in a cross-functional, project focused team environment. Ability to solve technical problems quickly and completely. Knowledge of RC hobby products is a plus.
