Join our client's team as a Product Development Associate specializing in private label sweaters and play a pivotal role in bringing our fashion vision to life!Key Responsibilities:As a Product Development Associate, you will: Develop and execute sweater designs that align with the vision of Merchants and Product Managers, ensuring trend-right, high-quality products. Foster strong relationships with Agents, Vendors, Buyers, and cross-functional teams, providing excellent customer service and communication. Coordinate product development timelines, ensuring adherence to time and action deadlines. Collaborate with technical design and sourcing teams to ensure products meet market trends, styling, and fit requirements. Review and approve vendor submissions (e.g., trims, fabric quality, print strike-offs) for compliance with standards, resolving issues as needed. Monitor production flow and delivery schedules to ensure on-time shipment. Travel domestically and internationally for trend research, vendor collaboration, and quality checks. Regularly shop competitor and in-house stores to stay updated on fashion trends, color directions, and value propositions. Responsibilities: Develops strong working relationships and communication skills. Ensures styling details and product standards are clearly communicated and understood by Agents/Vendors. Facilitates problem resolution in a timely manner. Coordinates the development process according to time and action deadlines. Develops an understanding of how to create achievable programs and how to add efficiencies while working with the Manager and team. Works with technical design and design to ensure that the product styling and fit is consistent with current market trends. Works with their Managers, the Agents and Vendors to develop new techniques and concept samples. Works closely with the Sourcing Team. Reviews all submits received from vendors for compliance to standards. Communicates technically achievable direction to the vendors on how to correct color, strike offs, components, and samples. Consults Product Manager or team members for functional guidance as necessary. Assists in monitoring delivery and production flow according to the Time & Action deadlines. Monitors WIP reports with Product Development team, Agents, and Vendors to ensure on time delivery for all programs. Travels domestically and internationally as needed. Approves submits including trims, dips, print strike offs, fabric quality and samples against established standards. Resolves issues as they arise in accordance to the Time and Action calendar. Ability to prioritize work load. Acts with integrity. Recommends methods to improve the product construction and quality. Qualifications: A degree in Fashion/Home Product Design or Merchandising. 2+ years of experience in product development within the apparel industry. Knowledge of garment specifications, construction, grading, and testing standards. Proficiency in PC tools such as Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office, PLM, Web PDM, and Adobe Illustrator. strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interpret and articulate conceptual design ideas. Organizational excellence and the ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. A team-oriented mindset and a commitment to delivering quality results.
