Product Engineer
Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Engineer to take full manufacturing responsibility, leading products through prototype, pilot, and production builds. The ideal candidate will oversee the implementation of customer documentation changes and internal change orders, report on the status of NPL activities, and use statistical tools to lead quality improvement within the customer team. This role also involves driving internal and external corrective action plans, actively participating in new customer development and new business development, and analyzing line return information to understand and drive corrective action on manufacturing process issues. Responsibilities + Lead products through prototype, pilot, and production builds. + Oversee the implementation of customer documentation changes and internal change orders. + Report on the status of NPL activities. + Use statistical tools to lead quality improvement within the customer team. + Drive internal and external corrective action plans. + Actively participate in new customer development and new business development. + Analyze line return information to understand and drive corrective action on manufacturing process issues. + Perform product-level assessments as required. + Perform Design for Manufacturability and work with Test Engineering on Design for Testability. + Assist in developing project proposals and associated cost estimates. + Execute product’s transitional manufacturing requirements and process approaches. + Develop in-depth knowledge of customer’s products to support product’s transitional activities. Essential Skills + A BS in Engineering. + A minimum of 2+ years as a manufacturing engineer in a production setting. + Experience in manufacturing engineering, lean six sigma, and electronics manufacturing. + Green belt certification. + Ability to solve and document moderately complex cross-departmental issues using structured problem-solving tools. + Good written and oral communication and presentation skills for internal and external customers. + Engineering-level understanding of electronic components, circuits, and systems or mechanical components and systems depending on education. Work Environment This role is based in Rochester, MN.
