Job Title: Product Engineer
Job Description

Product Engineers may work on Engineered-to-Order (ETO) within the Engineering team. You are responsible for providing timely and thoughtful design solutions for the unique and sometimes evolving requirements of the current project, including due dates or design data requests. You will review criteria, identify, and analyze opportunities and solutions, apply analysis, and design the most optimal product. Additionally, you will create or oversee the creation of submittal drawings, production drawings, and any other design documents necessary. More than anything else, you will be responsible for ensuring that our product designs are robust, optimized around DfX principles, compliant to the project scope and all other applicable requirements, and fully and clearly documented for various internal and external stakeholders.

ResponsibilitiesCreate design solutions of manufacturable products that meet engineering standards, project objectives, and user requirements, ensuring on-time completion to the projects due-dates.Perform design work including data research, feasibility, and costing studies.Consistently, and sometimes quickly, solve complex problems with simple cost-effective solutions.Stay organized in a fast-paced, open team environment, while working on multiple projects in varying stages and at various levels of development.Continuously identify, recommend and/or undertake activities and methods to make positive contributions to the company goals and initiatives within the scope of the position.Stay current with manufacturing capabilities and provide support for manufacturing/production implementation.Travel to installation locations and/or other locations may be required on rare occasions.Essential SkillsAbility to self-manage and work to due dates.Understanding of engineering principles and processes, including but not limited to: DfX (Design for X: Manufacture/Assembly/Cost/Quality/Sustainability), FEA (finite element analysis), structural calculations, prototyping and assembly, physical testing.3+ years of experience with SolidWorks or AutoCAD.Experience working in a manufacturing environment.Excellent 3D CAD skills: SolidWorks preferred, or another platform is acceptable.Good 2D CAD skills: AutoCAD preferred.Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes: Sheet metal, tubular steel, welding, machining, and forming, extruding (plastic and metal), fiberglass composites, lightweight concrete, plastic thermoforming, plastic molding, and woodworking.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.Experience navigating and working in a manufacturing facility.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with outdoor product design is a plus.Work Environment

Hybrid on-site 3-4 days per week - will be working with a team of about 8 engineers (product and development), will also need to walk the production floor from time to time. Work hours are Monday-Friday from 7am-4pm. The work environment is a small team setting with a strong collaborative culture.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $36.00/hr.
