Position Summary
As a Product Engineer in Energizer’s Global Auto Care R&D Team, you will develop and/or improve consumer devices and mechanical systems for new or existing auto care products by collaborating with cross functional partners including marketing, procurement, operations, and quality assurance. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in interfacing with manufacturing partners, assessing and improving mechanical designs and managing mutli-faceted programs. The position is remote and located in Canada.
Responsibilities
The position supports existing automotive brands by developing new and enhanced products, improving existing products, and supporting manufacturing. Areas of product support include automotive refrigerant recharge products and air freshener fragrance delivery systems. Specific accountabilities include:
+ Lead new product development in our refrigerant and air freshener divisions on devices sucha as handheld electronic, mechanical automotive refrigerant system refill products and fragrance delivery products. Work with internal cross functional team members as well as external design agencies, manufacturers and suppliers in order to deliver innovation to our brand.
+ Lead and manage product improvement projects to realize cost, quality, performance, or supply benefits for existing products.
+ Develop working prototypes for concept development
+ Plan, execute, analyze and summarize plant trials working closely with Manufacturing, engineering, and production technical resources
+ Define and conduct development testing to ensure readiness for production, distribution, customer and consumer fit for use
+ Ensure product meets relevant national, international and industry standards.
+ Conduct engineering analysis using appropriate methods, such as calculation, testing or FEA.
+ Maintain accurate, complete and detailed records including product data sheets
+ Support technical organization as needed to resolve consumer or production technical issues
What we are looking for
+ BS/BA (4 year undergraduate) degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
+ 3 years experience preferred working on a product development
+ 3 years experience in project management
+ The employee will also be expected to participate in occasional teleconference meetings with global colleagues in different time zones.
Working Relationships
Reports to R&D Manager. Key relationships will include R&D team, Marketing, Procurement External Suppliers, and Operations groups.

Total Rewards Package
The salary range for this position is CAD $60,000.00/Yr. - CAD $89,250.00/Yr.
Actual base salary offered to a candidate may vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
