Product Engineering & Quality Intern

Job Summary

Our 11- week summer internship program will be in person in Atlanta and run from May 19 – August 1, 2025.

As a Product Engineering & Quality Intern, you will help on the setting up a new process rigor for managing Product Quality for NAPA as part of a transformation for new product introduction, procurement tenders, supplier quality management and mitigating liability risks. Interns will do meaningful work through specific a project(s) and/or initiative(s) in their respective departments and make a final presentation at the conclusion of their internship. Interns will enjoy robust networking and personal development opportunities through formalized interactions with senior leadership, training workshops, and city-wide intern events. Interns will have fun and give back through opportunities to meet fellow college-aged students, social outings, service projects, and more!

Responsibilities

Observe and document processes for various activities related to but not limited to new product introduction, procurement initiatives and supplier quality issues.Identify goals & key success metrics for each of the processes, gathering input from key stakeholders.Map out processes using visualization tools such as PowerPoint or Vizio, recording key attributes for each step in the process.Apply Engineering Problem solving techniques to a corporate environment to help standardize intake, export, and expiration of parts.Apply Engineering Problem solving techniques to assist suppliers in reducing warranty cost.Assist team members in documentation tasks that help serve our customers better, with an eye for process improvement in these tasks; make recommendations to streamline / automate the same.Assist team members with meeting process improvement goals, by getting direction on required tasks that can primarily include working with complex data sets.Can expect to extensively utilize data analytics as well as advanced excel analytics including xlook up, pivot tables / charts to conduct validations where required.Shadow team members on typical day-to-day activities to learn key critical activities in   and quality function in the organization.

Qualifications

Currently a rising junior or senior pursuing an undergraduate degree in industrial engineering, engineering management, mechanical engineering or other related field required.Proficiency in MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Strong analytical aptitude

Preferred Qualifications

3.25 GPA or above preferred.Exposure to Vizio, Smartsheet preferred.Engineering drawing analysis and CAD Design skills a plus.

Physical Demands / Working Environment

Expected to operate in a professional office environment.The 2025 program will run from May 19 – August 1, 2025The work week is 40-hours.Working hours are M-F 8:00AM – 5:00PM with a 1-hour lunch break.
