OPENLANE is currently seeking Product Interns to join the team. We are an online marketplace for auto dealers and our platform is changing the way auto dealers buy/sell wholesale vehicles.
As Product Intern, you will evaluate new technology concepts that offer value creation opportunities for business as future product enhancements. Your job will be to assess the potential alternatives, pilot and/or assess the effectiveness of the solution, and outline the opportunity by implementing the solution into our marketplace.
What You'll Do:
You will work closely with product, engineering and business stakeholder colleagues to assess new technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Curiosity. Understand product and customer insights in order to define the Product Vision and Strategy for a specific area of the BacklotCars marketplace. This includes doing interviews with customers and analyzing product metrics/customer behavioral data. Relationship building. Work with business stakeholders to understand existing business processes, prioritize requirements and build trust by validating product requirements and changes. Collaborative agile development. Facilitate discussions with our engineering partners to create technical solutions to meet business requirements captured in Figma and Clubhouse. Then, develop test plans and perform testing to ensure business requirements are met to see the full product development cycle. Teach us something! To be currently enrolled in the 3rd or 4th year of University degree program with an emphasis in Business Management, Computer Science, Systems Development, or related area or equivalent combination of education and work experienceDesire to roll up your sleeves, execute, and create order and processes within a dynamic growing startupHighly collaborative attitude with a deep sense of ownership and accountabilityKnowledge of relational database conceptsKnowledge of the agile development lifecycle/rhythm; knowledge of software development life cyclesEffective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skillsExcellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities
