**Job Summary**
The Product Line Manager, a critical member of the Marketing and Product Line Management team, plays a pivotal role in gathering, analyzing, and organizing key market and strategic information. This role will focus on developing and executing growth strategies for product lines, including product positioning, pricing strategies, and lifecycle management. The candidate will drive the identification of new product needs, manage product development projects, and ensure the company responds effectively to competitive pressures. Furthermore, this role involves creating robust sales and marketing tools and delivering technical training and support across assigned product lines.
**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
+ **Process Optimization:** Analyze and optimize various stages of cement manufacturing processes, including raw material preparation, clinker production, grinding, and packaging, to enhance efficiency and quality.
+ **Research and Development Collaboration:** Collaborate with R&D teams to gain an in-depth understanding of new performance additives and their characteristics, ensuring alignment with product goals.
+ **Performance Evaluation:** Manage performance evaluations of grinding aids and additives in laboratory and plant settings to assess and optimize their effectiveness.
+ **Product Introduction:** Develop and implement strategies for integrating new performance additives into cement and binder manufacturing processes.
+ **Technical Support and Training:** Provide technical support to plant personnel on cement manufacturing processes, grinding aid application, and additive optimization. Conduct training sessions to share best practices within the organization.
+ **Customer Relationship Management:** Establish and nurture relationships with current and potential customers in the cement industry to drive product awareness and adoption.
+ **Product Demonstrations:** Deliver product demonstrations and technical presentations to highlight the benefits and features of grinding aids and cement additives.
+ **Cross-Functional Collaboration:** Work closely with teams across technical support, customer service, and operations to ensure smooth and effective execution of sales and support activities.
**Education and Experience**
+ Bachelor's degree in Business, Materials Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
+ An advanced degree (MBA, MS) or specialized training in construction or engineering-related fields is a plus.
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in cement or concrete admixture industry, with a background in product development, sales, or R&D.
+ Experience in leading cross-functional teams in a technical environment is an asset.
**Skills and Knowledge**
+ **Technical Expertise:** In-depth knowledge of cement manufacturing processes, with specific expertise in the application of grinding aids and performance additives.
+ **Analytical Skills:** Strong analytical capabilities to evaluate performance data and identify areas for improvement in manufacturing processes.
+ **Interpersonal Skills:** Ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, plant personnel, and cross-functional teams.
+ **Communication and Presentation:** Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for training, product presentations, and customer interactions.
+ **Project Management:** Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a focus on meeting deadlines and achieving targets.
+ **Software Proficiency:** Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with SAP, data analysis tools, and Salesforce is a plus.
+ **Industry Knowledge:** Knowledge of concrete technology and market dynamics within the cement industry is advantageous.
+ **Ability to work independently.** Self-driven, Self-motivated
**Other Information**
**Travel**
+ This position requires up to 40% travel, which may vary throughout the year depending on project needs and customer engagement.
**Work Environment**
The role primarily operates in a professional office environment, with regular use of standard office equipment and software. While most duties are performed at a desk, the position also involves occasional in-person customer interactions, requiring strong interpersonal skills and a polished, professional demeanor. The work environment is collaborative and dynamic, with opportunities to engage across departments and with external clients to support business needs.
**Physical Demands**
Primarily operates in an office environment, requiring prolonged periods of sitting, computer use, and operation of standard office equipment. Occasional movement within the office is needed, including lifting items up to 10 pounds, bending, reaching, and standing to retrieve documents or supplies. Visual acuity for reading documents and performing repetitive hand and wrist movements is required, as well as occasional walking to other departments for meetings.
