Role Purpose

The purpose of this position is to provide product line management for Corning products.  The scope of the role includes defining the product and value proposition, making decisions on pricing, placement, and commercial launch plans, quantifying the product value proposition, and developing compelling sales aids. 

Key Responsibilities

Developing and implementing product strategy in tandem with cross functional resources

Establish project objectives and articulate customer needs: what is the problem to be solved or capability the customer desires? Interpret market demand and provide key input/conclusion for capacity planning through forecasting and demand management.  Develop deep comprehension of the customers’ products systems and how they impact our products’ specs and value proposition. Own product line Profit and Loss (P&L) statement and understand impact of product definition on costs and profitability. Develop overall product line plan and roadmap that connects to financials and technology strategy. Act as the key coordinator between Account Management organizations and Commercial Technology, Operations, Development and Engineering.

Developing and implementing pricing strategy

Develop pricing strategy based on cost analysis, competitive analysis, value analysis/proposition and shareholder needs. Develop and implement pricing process for efficient and effective price management that meets all contractual requirements as defined with legal. Work with legal and sales to define contractual and licensing terms and act as an approver of the supply agreement and licensing process; assess contract terms.

Create compelling selling materials that clearly articulate the value proposition

Directly contribute to creation of the value prop content, product definition, and ‘elevator speech’. Create key messaging and sales aids (messaging, graphics, demos, videos) that build upon the value prop and the most effective way to communicate our product value.  Work with sales to segment customer base and refine market forecast.  Attend customer meetings where the innovation product selling deck is presented and gather and address feedback. Identify new opportunities to further improve the innovation product’s performance. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in business or technical field.  Desired: Master’s degree in business administration or equivalent 5+ years of experience in commercial or business roles. Product line management, marketing, or sales/AE customer facing experience in a business approximately > $50M annual revenues. The ability to lead change on a global basis. Collaboration and Influencing: able to work effectively across a complex, global organization, and get things done within matrixed reporting structures. The ability to partner externally to open up new opportunities and enable flexibility.

The range for this position is  $97,472.00 - $134,024.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
