Job Purpose
The Product Line Manager is responsible for driving profitable growth in the regional Product Line/Division/Business by executing the business strategy at the local level. Product Line Managers provide direction to supporting functions, do thorough product portfolio analysis, monitor KPIs, develop product strategy, provide annual/long-term product forecast and oversee new product innovation, product marketing, and collateral development.
As the key coordinator and connector, the Product Line Manager works closely with General Manager, marketing, sales, R&D, customer service, procurement, finance, engineering and operations to ensure continuity in product offering to profitably meet Product Line/Division/Business customer’s needs and market requirements. Product Management directs product line related innovative, providing criteria required to renew the product portfolio with solutions that deliver value, are usable by target customers with a reasonable timeframe.
While developing & executing Product Line/Division/Business strategy regionally, the PLM will be responsible for coordinating with global Product Line/Division/Business strategy.
The Sterra product line will be the flagship product line for Sustainability. The PLM Sterra will be responsible for establishing the full circular supply chain: taking back polymer, enabling the polymer to be recovered through internal or external resources, incorporating the recycled polymer into Sterra grade products and promoting the Sterra products to the market.
Principal Accountabilities
Financial
+ Responsible for driving activities to meet or exceed financial metrics related to the assigned product line including the regional Revenue, and contribution margin (CM1).
+ Provides product analysis and management of established product portfolio to ensure financial objectives can be achieved.
+ Coordinates with project and operations teams to justify, support and approve (within DOA) CAPEX spending and asset maintenance.
Product Strategy
+ Provides expertise in particular product area. Owning the product(s) roadmap/strategy and performance.
+ Develop and execute Product Strategy and give direction for a specific product group/category/family based on business objectives, market outlook, technology trends and customer needs.
+ Collaborate with regional Market & Growth Strategy teams in Commercial Organization, Business & Global Product Line Strategy teams and other functional strategy development team to develop and execute specialty material business strategies.
Pricing
+ Regularly performs pricing & competitive analysis by customer channel & develops strategies to improve market position and profitability.
+ Collaborating with market/sales team to establish and negotiate pricing to drive profitable growth within the product line.
+ Coordinate with Regional Pricing leaders to explore opportunities to ensure pricing excellence.
Product Portfolio Management / Life Cycle
+ Works with R&D and Commercial on New Product Innovations
+ Manages product database with product technical data, specifications, regulatory requirements and applicable literature.
Manages product life cycle and communicates product changes both internally & externally to sales, customer service, operations, finance and GM.
+ Provides financial and technical justification for product selection and definition.
+ Defines production priority outside of normal guidelines for Planning / Supply Chain
Forecasting
+ Participates in monthly S&OP process to ensure alignment of supply and demand forecast with product strategy and objectives.
+ Produces, maintains, and updates annual forecast by product line.
+ Produces, maintains, and updates long range forecast and capacity needs by product line.
Product Marketing
+ Engages with relevant Regional Market teams to bring market-back insights to the product strategy and execution plan.
+ Develops and maintains a prioritized list of customer and market requirements for product. (Customer segmentation? Owned by Product or Sales)
+ Works with the regional sales and marketing teams to drive the opportunity pipeline for profitable growth.
+ Collaborates with a variety of functional areas such as sales, engineering, marketing, procurement, logistics and operations to develop and provide product solutions responsive to customer needs and market opportunities.
+ Manages competitive analysis materials comparing our products with key competitors to validate our value proportions, find gaps in our offering and help direct new product development. Identifies partnering opportunities for complementary third-party products to broaden company's product line.
+ Works with R&D and Sales team to coordinate product introductions and market exploitation to ensure maximum penetration of market segment.
General
+ Ability to participate in key sales situations for the product.
+ Maintains communications and contacts to collect and analyze technical, financial, schedule, and sales information for product line.
+ Plans, organizes, and coordinates assigned programs to ensure accomplishment of financial/budgetary goals and optimum allocation of resources.
+ Coordinates details of program within the organization with a wide range of functions and individuals.
+ Responsible for approval of Opportunities at D2 level prior to engagement with R&D.

Knowledge / Skills / Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business, marketing, chemistry, chemical engineering, material/polymer science or engineering. Master’s or Doctor’s degree is a plus.
+ Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in chemical or manufacturing industry.
+ Knowledge of plastics industry, familiarity with recycle, LCA and circular economy.
+ Excellent speaking and presentation skills are required.
+ Skilled in working with different functions and effectively leading cross-functional team to achieve desired results.
+ Highly organized, dependable, detail oriented. Excellent time management and communication skills.
+ Excellent listening skills, including the ability to identify and isolate customers concerns or objections, in addition to excellent written and oral communication skills.
+ Demonstrated experience in negotiating contracts and multi-year agreements.

+ **The salary range for this position is $105,820 - $132,275. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.**
