How will you make an impact?

The Associate Product Manager is a global position that will help manage products within the Cell & Gene Therapy viral vector business in the Bioscience Division of Thermo Fisher Scientific. The incumbent will be responsible for the revenue, margin, customer satisfaction, and market share objectives. They will support or co-lead global portfolio strategies as well as global product line strategy, drive innovative solutions to customer issues, provide market leadership in the development of new products, and run day-to-day operations for growth and profitability of their products. The position will be based in our Carlsbad, CA office.

What will you do?

Manage the life cycle of the assigned product lines. Responsibilities include three-year product line strategies, pricing /margin optimization, and management across the customer value continuum.Lead product management related activities and foster cross-functional activities to improve overall product line performance including revenue growth, margin improvement, cost reduction, quality and delivery.Lead all product management aspects associated with new product introductions (NPIs) including product definition, product development, product positioning, pricing, profitability targets, market introduction, and sales training. The product manager owns customer and financial success of the NPIs.Collect global market and competitor intelligence and translate this into useable market insights to support positioning and commercialisation of the product.Translate deep understanding of customer workflows and customer needs into sharp customer insights to craft product positioning and support value proposition activities, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer expectations. Serve as product and market champion with internal team members, global and regional marketing and commercial teams, and directly with customers.Analyze and interpret financial reports regarding product sales as well as forecast for assigned products.Support the implementation of short- and long-term product strategies.

How will you get there?

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or similar field, Master’s highly preferred.

Experience

Demonstrated experience (3+ years) in product management, marketing, or business development.Experience with financial modeling and data analysis skills. Ability to build and analyze models to forecast and track results.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Knowledge of the Bioscience industry and/or biological sciences. Expanded knowledge base in cell & gene therapy viral vector production, or adjacent technologies, highly preferred.Proactive, dedicated mentality to support the execution of strategic opportunities, set bold objectives, and drive key business priorities.Ability to work autonomously and work on projects of moderate scope and complexity.Comfortable and able to make complex decisions in ambiguous circumstances.Strong communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, relationship building, and planning/prioritization skills.Ability to work effectively in a matrix management structureAbility to travel up to 25%, including international

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $91,700.00–$137,525.00.
