We are looking for a Product manager who will build a roadmap for a differentiated data governance and access policy model including data classification that provides secure access to customer workloads and data while minimizing exposure to unauthorized access and risk of data loss in a hybrid cloud environment.

This is a critical part of the Cloudera Data Platform, that helps customers  monitor access to customer data, detect anomalous activities, and demonstrate compliance and feeds into various data governance workstreams.

As a Product Manager, you will:

Be responsible for understanding the “what and the why” and translate that into defining requirements, prioritizing them and working cross functionally to ensure that the right products are being built. 

Think strategically, communicate effectively, and collaborate with diverse teams to drive innovation and deliver high-impact solutions that delight customers for key data access and governance capabilities, specifically Ranger.

Write requirements to ensure pervasive customer problems for RBAC/ ABAC and Fine grained access controls are implemented to drive the right access to datasets.

Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and engage with customers to meaningfully understand customer problems and the impact of solving the problems

Perform functional analysis that identifies the best options for compelling, easy to use software.

Develop close partnership with engineering to understand technical trade-offs and architecture in order to successfully influence product design.

Manage constant prioritization across several competing objectives for optimal use of time and resources.

Conduct in-person and virtual interviews to understand users, priorities and design considerations.

Research market segments, assessing competitive differentiation, creating decision frameworks, formulating hypotheses and advocating direction.

Communicate product vision to press, analysts, and the wider big data ecosystem to create a strong tailwind for Sales; work with product marketing to create product demos and other technical sales tools; develop conference presentations and other collateral to highlight capabilities.

Enable our field and partners, and directly support key opportunities.

Work with customers, support, and engineering teams to handle and resolve any critical customer issues that arise with our product.

We’re excited about you if you have:

5+ years of product management experience with enterprise B2B or SaaS products

Domain expertise in data access control, data privacy, data classification and authorization models

Specifically experience with Apache Atlas, Ranger is a huge plus

Define customer inputs into actionable requirements, and communicate product value propositions to customers, product marketing and sales teams.

Experience driving business results through influential leadership across cross functional teams including engineering, sales, marketing, solution architects and customer success.

Prior experience / working with RBAC/ABAC workflows, Finegrained access controls 

Familiarity with data governance , geographical data sovereignty, compliance regulations, and data privacy standards.

Excellent analytical & visualization skills with the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable product features.

Self-motivated , proactive & accountable with a strong sense of ownership to succeed in a remote first world.

You have been a product manager, or another business oriented / customer facing technical role where you have delivered innovative products and nurtured their continued success

You understand what makes great enterprise platform software

You possess superlative written, verbal, and visual communication skills

Ability to travel as required
