This is a technical Product Management role that has broad impact and focuses on delivering the software tools and systems that Expeditors' engineering staff need to perform their roles and deliver world-class logistics software.
This includes identifying and understanding customer requirements to develop the product vision and defining the features required to fulfill that vision. In this role you will be creating best in class software development and delivery systems, data storage and transport and monitoring tools for both cloud deployed and on-premise systems.
You will clearly define the risks, costs, and benefits of proposed solutions to Software Infrastructure's teams and IS leadership. This role will work closely with multiple Architects and other senior engineering staff on the technical implementation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Use knowledge of all technologies in Software Infrastructure to understand customer needs and requirements in order to sponsor technology solutions to move forward with the groups strategy and ensure success.Develop and communicate product visions and roadmaps and communicate them to Software Infrastructure teams, Product Owners, customers and IS Leadership.Understand and manage the lifecycle of Software Infrastructure's existing products, communicating expectations with customers and assist in managing vendor relationships.Collaborate with IS Risk Management, Legal and audit to ensure products meet compliance and governance requirements.Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects and other Senior engineering staff to define releases and program increments, perform proof of concepts/MVPs and present proposals to leadership.Participate in program increment demos and metrics assessments.Stay abreast of new technologies, concepts, approaches and security and compliance best practices and work to communicate needed adjustments to vision or roadmaps in response.This position is on-site and will reside in the greater Seattle, WA. area at one of the following locations depending on availability. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.

Personal and professional alignment with Expeditors' culture and ten critical success factors.5+ years professional experience in Information Technology including:2+ years' experience in a product leadership role such as Product Owner, Product Manager or technical/engineering Project Management.At least 3 years of previous experience in a technical or engineering role such as Developer or Systems Administrator.BA/BS Computer Science, Information Systems, or related degree. Work experience maybe substituted.Experienced problem solver, strong collaborator, and demonstrated ability to provide clarity around complex topics to a diverse audience.Assertive personality with demonstrated strong leadership, communication, listening, coaching, mentorship abilities as well as execution capabilities.Experience with DevSecOps, Lean, Agile and/or the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).Excellent customer service skills and high customer service standards.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Masters degree preferred in Computer Science, Information Systems or related degree. Work experience maybe substituted.Senior Level Software or Systems Engineer experience acting as a team lead or similar with technology-oriented leadership skills.PO/PM SAFe Certification, or willingness to obtain.Practical understanding of cloud technologies and operating applications in a cloud environment.Experience programming in a modern object-oriented language such as Java.Experience working in an Infrastructure as Code environment with containers.Past exposure or experience with any of the following tools:Automation tooling such as Ansible, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub, Docker, Puppet.Databases such as DB2, SQL Server, Postgres or MongoDB.Enterprise Messaging systems or standards such as Kafka, JMS or AMQP.Elastic, OpsView, Nagios, Grafana, Prometheus or similar observability tooling.Applicants are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately; employer will not transfer or sponsor applicants for U.S. work authorization (such as an H-1B visa) for this opportunity.
Additional InformationExpected base salary: $150,000 to $200,000
